SERIES: The Majors will line up against Hendrix for the fourth consecutive year after being hosted by the Warriors in their first SAA conference game last year. In the last three matchups between the two, the Warriors have edged the Majors 2-1 with victories coming in the past two years after the Majors took the first meeting between the two.
LAST OUTING: Millsaps: In a 35-16 loss to University of Chicago, Chance Clowers completed 30 passes out of 57 for 351 yards and one touch down. Andrew Warren led the Majors in rushing with 12 carries for 60 yards and Ty Durham led in receiving with five receptions for 76 yards. Taz Watson had 19 carries for 55 yards and one touchdown and Andrew Jarreau grabbed four receptions for 58 yards for an additional touchdown.On the defensive side of the ball, Hector Sandoval led in tackles with 8 solo tackles and 8 assists. He also grabbed one forced fumble and one interception. Brooks Rosandich followed close behind with seven solo tackles and two assist and was credited with one tackle for a loss of one yard.
Hendrix: In a 49-14 rout of Lyon College, quarterback Seth Peters went 21-of-26 for 371 passing yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for a seven-yard score. Junior wide receiver Nate Hodapp caught five passes for a career-high 132 yards and two touchdowns.Senior running back Dayton Winn recorded six carries for 39 yards and two scores.Wide receiver Luedtke finished with four catches for 88 yards and a touchdown. Junior safety Kody Smith led the defense with eight tackles. Freshman Paul Clayborn recorded three solo tackles and had a 56-yard interception return.
PAST MEETINGS: Hendrix posted a 45-34 win over the Majors last fall to kick off the SAA conference schedule last year on their home field, making it two consecutive wins for the Warriors over the Majors. Majors threw for a combined 390 passing yards with 2 passing TDs, with Chance Clowers contributing 205 yards and Ty Proctor throwing for 185 yards. Majors also ran for 222 yards, with running back Andrew Warren leading the way with 81 yards and one TD on 13 carries.
Two years prior, Hendrix snatched a 35-30 victory at home. In 2013, Millsaps took a convincing 48-37 win over Hendrix in their first conference home game.
COACHES: Millsaps head coach Aaron Pelch is 40-31 into his eighth season at the helm of the Majors, with his best year coming in 2013 with a record of 9-1.
Pelch was named SAA Coach of the Year in both 2012 and 2013 as he guided the Majors to conference championships.
Pelch is 1-2 vs. Hendrix.
Hendrix head coach Buck Buchanan is in his fourth year guiding the Warriors. The Warriors posted a record of 17-14 in his first three years
Buchanan is 2-1 in head-to-head matchups with Millsaps in this ongoing series.
