JACKSON, Miss. – The Millsaps men's soccer team defeat Rhodes, 3-2 in their first conference game of the year at home in Harper Davis Field on Saturday, Sept. 24.

The Majors rallied against the Lynx, recording 11 shots (seven on goal) and converting a goal on an efficient three of those shots on goal.

Tore Schutt got the Majors on the board early in the first half, recording a goal in his first shot on goal within the first 2 minutes of the game. Alex Bourland followed his lead, scoring the next goal at the 42:30 minute mark of the first half. Rhodes struck quickly in the second half, scoring two goals in the first 15 minutes, including one on a penalty kick at the 59 minute mark on the second half. Tore Schutt, assisted by Nat Edwards then scored the winning goal at the 79 minute mark of the second half to ice the game for the Majors after being tied up for 20 minutes.

Tore Schutt led the Majors offense with four shots, all four on goal and converted two of those goals. Steven Chrobok and Jon Overton followed behind him with two shots a piece. led the Millsaps offense with two shots each, with one of Chrobok's being on goal. Gabriel Ryce, Alex Bourland, and Nat Edwards all recorded shots as well.

Jonathan Huebbe guarded the goal all 90 minutes, only allowing two goals and recording four saves.

The Majors have a quick turnaround and will be back in action the next day, Sunday Sept, 25 vs. University of Texas at Tyler, in another non-conference bout. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Harper Davis Field located on the campus of Millsaps College.
