Box Score JACKSON, Miss. – Looking to secure their first conference win at home, the Millsaps College Women's Volleyball team (2-8) were unable to come out on top, dropping a 3-0 (25-27, 20 -25, 23-25) decision to Rhodes (6-5).
The Majors were led by junior Regan Riddle with seven kills followed up by Lena Barrett, Erica Bennett, Meredith Gates and Spencer Jones with four kills each. Ashley Zamjahn led the Majors defense with 20 digs. Riddle also topped everyone with a match high of three total blocks and Shelby Marsh led the pack with a match high of 17 assists.
Millsaps did not go down without a fight against Rhodes. Both teams scored at least 20 in all three sets and they tied 25 times throughout the match and exchanged leads 11 times. The Majors played the Lynx very close in each stat category and even won some categories, including kills, attacks and digs.
The Majors fought hard, going back and forth all morning and are hoping to bring that same effort home when they face Hendrix tomorrow on Sunday, at 12p.m. Millsaps will be looking for their first conference win and first home win vs Hendrix.
