JACKSON, Miss. – The women's soccer team will look for their first win of the season at home against Belhaven tomorrow, Sept. 27.
The Majors (0-6-1) with four days to rest between games, are looking to turn the season around against their cross-city Rivals and grab their first win of the season.
Molly Ambrose leads Millsaps in goals scored with two goals and has recorded 18 shots with seven shots on goal. Other Major standouts are Emily Gager and Grayston Barron. Gager has scored a goal for Millsaps and has tallied three shots with two on goal. Barron is ranked second on team in shots taken with 11 and four on goal.
So far this season, the Majors have scored three goals on 47 shots with 18 shots on goal.
Olivia Gattuso has still played very well as goalkeeper, recording 63 saves and only giving up 33 goals on 157 shots faced.
These two teams met last year, and Belhaven came away with a 1-0 win. Majors women's soccer will be looking to reverse their luck and win in front of their home crowd this year.
Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. Follow Major women's soccer and the rest of Major Athletics on Facebook at Millsaps Major Athletics, on Twitter @MajorAthletics, and on Instagram @GoMajors. Show your support for your favorite players and team by using the hashtags GoMajors and MajorPlay.
