Box Score AUSTIN, TX – The Millsaps men's soccer team drops second road game at Concordia Unviersity –Texas on Saturday, Sept. 3, falling 0-2.
Major goalkeeper Jonathan Huebbe fought hard to defend the goal, tallying three saves but it was not enough to keep Millsaps ahead of two goals allowed.
For the Major offense, the team recorded six shots with two shots on goal.
Javier Garcia led the effort recording three of the six shots and both shots on goal.
Other standout players were
Tore Schutt and
Dimitri Staursky. They recorded two shots and one shot respectively.
Concordia recorded nine shots with six shots on goal and the goalkeeper was credited with two saves.
"Coming off of Thursday's game with injuries, we were short handed," said Head Coach Steven Volt. "The guys we had played hard but they were exposed and out of their element. This game was needed to show us the things we should work for our next competition."
The Majors will have their first home game of the 2016 season on Monday, Sept. 5 when they host the University of Mobile.
To be ready for this game, Millsaps must heal injuries and work on opening holes in their opponent's defense. The Major defenders must also work to shutdown Mobile's offense before they reach the goal.
Monday's kick-off is set for 7 p.m. at Harper Davis Field located on the campus of Millsaps College.
