ATLANTA, Ga. – An own goal in the 86th minute was all that Millsaps could put together in their 8-1 loss at Oglethorpe Friday night.
MIllsaps was outshot 23-5 and 15-3 on goal for the match.
Brett Judd (Monroe, La.) was the only Major to produce much offense, finishing the night with two shots on goal.
Oglethorpe did not take long to get started in the scoring column. In the third minute, the Stormy Petrels broke through to break the match open. They would score three more goals in the first half to take a commanding 4-0 lead going into halftime.
Things stayed the same in the second half. Oglethorpe scored three more times in the first 11 minutes of the half, and once more in the 63rd minute.
Millsaps only goal of the night was an own goal in the 86th minute, that allowed the Majors to avoid the shutout.
Millsaps falls to 5-6-2 on the season and 1-3-1 in SAA play. The Majors play their final road match of the season on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. ET at Berry.
