ATLANTA, Ga. – Despite having many scoring oppurtunities, MIllsaps could not come up with enough in their 3-0 loss at Oglethorpe Friday afternoon.
Molly Ambrose (Pensacola, Fla.) and
Grayston Barron (Little Rock, Ark.) led the Majors offense with two shots on goal each, while
Heather Hembree (Watson, La.) also had a shot on goal.
Oglethorpe struck first in the 9th minute of the match. The Majors had two chances to tie the game in the 11th minute, Ambrose's first shot went off the crossbar and just seconds later, her second shot went wide of the goal.
The Majors kept things close in the first half, they did not allow another goal and went into halftime down 1-0.
Oglethorpe changed that quickly, just thirty seconds into the second half, the Stormy Petrels scored again. Oglethorpe scored again in the 75th minute to put the match away.
Millsaps will get ready to play their final road regular season match of the season at Berry on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. ET.
