Box Score JACKSON, MISS. -- Millsaps' Baseball team loses to Piedmont in the last game of the Millsaps Invitational, 9-8.

The Majors got off to a hot start, leading for most of the night. Lee Ogletree and Wes Lassere batted runners in back to back in the bottom of the first inning. Millsaps only extended the lead from there, taking a 8-3 lead into the eighth inning.

In the last two innings of the game, Piedmont scored six runs to go up 9-8 before Jacob Mardick got the Majors out of the top of the ninth inning. Down one in the bottom of the ninth, with two outs already, Millsaps had a batter on second when pinch hitter Jon Dale Dieckman came in to potentially tie the game. Dieckman ultimately struck out and the Majors fell to Piedmont for the second time in four days.

Lee Ogletree got his first home run of the season this afternoon. He also batted in three runners, Lassere batted in three runners and Andy Page got an RBI as well. Hayden Willams got the start at pitcher. Williams and Barret Kaul combined to strike out seven hitters.

Millsaps Baseball will face off against rival Belhaven on Tuesday next.
