It was an even battle over the first quarter. A pair of free throws by Madison Martin gave Hendrix (17-10) a 10-5 lead with three minutes left in the quarter, but Millsaps (17-10) received five quick points from sophomore
Millicent Butler (Haynesville, LA), with her trey tying things up at the 2:20 mark. Martin hit a layup for the Warriors in the final minute to give them a two-point edge at the end of the quarter.
Hendrix outscored Millsaps 7-1 at the start of the second quarter, moving out to a 19-11 advantage after a layup by Sara Dyslin four minutes in.
