MOUNT BERRY, Ga. (Apr. 30,2017) - After being postponed a week earlier due to a rain delay, Millsaps loses to Berry College in the SAA Softball Championship game, 4-2.
Batting first, senior
Kat Romero (Lafayette, La.) singled to right field to get on base. Two at-bats later, senior
Megan Murray (Madison, Miss.) hit a sacrifice fly to drive Romero in and give the Majors a 1-0 lead after the first inning. Senior
Kayla Davidson (Slaughter, La.) started at pitcher for the game for Millsaps and forced Berry to go three up, three down in the first. In the second inning, Marie Collup homered for Berry to knot the game up at 1-1. A single from Sarah Moore drove a runner home to give Berry a 2-1 lead.
In the fourth inning, Romero got an RBI to tie the game back up at 2-2. Then, Elisabeth Federici hit Berry's second home run of the day, and gave Berry a 4-2 lead that they wouldn't relent. In their final chance to come back, Millsaps couldn't get anything going and were three up, three down in the seventh inning.
