JACKSON, Miss. – After picking up a pair of first half goals, the Millsaps College men's soccer team put four more on the board in the second half as they rolled past the squad from the Mississippi University for Women, 6-0. Senior
Dimitri Staursky (Hoover, Ala.) tallied a goal in each half to lead the Majors.
A hard rain shower at kickoff did not dampen the play for Millsaps (4-1-1) as the Majors quickly dominated play as they consistently put pressure on the MUW (0-5-1) defense. In the 12

Alex Bourland (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) and sophomore
Gabriel Ryce (Jonesboro, Ga.) set up sophomore
Tore Schütt (Hamburg, Germany) for a shot that he put in the back of the net for the first score of the game and his third of the season.
Twenty minutes later the Majors struck again when Staursky took a ball from junior
Nathaniel Edwards (Charleston, S.C.) and scored his second goal of the season. Millsaps was never threatened in the first half as it dominated by with a 20-0 shot advantage.
Staursky picked up his second goal just under three minutes into the second half when he put a shot home off Bourland's second assist of the contest. Millsaps then put the game out of reach with a pair of goals just 1:11 apart in the 56
th and 57
th minute by Ryce and sophomore
Brett Judd (Monroe, La.). Bourland closed out the scoring with his fourth of the season in the 74
th minute.
Millsaps defense held the Owls to just four second half shots, only two of were on goal. Both were turned away by sophomore goalkeeper
Alfie Miller (London, England) who recorded his fourth shutout of the season.
Millsaps will play at home in its next outing on Wednesday, September 20. The Majors will host when the Majors will host Williams Carey University at Harper Davis Field at 7:00 p.m.
