JACKSON, Miss. -- The Millsaps College women's soccer team welcomed East Texas Baptist University to Harper Davis Field for the final non-conference match of the 2018 season.
Despite a huge shot advantage for the visiting Tigers, the game was scoreless at halftime. ETBU broke through for a goal in the 74th minute which proved to be the lone score in their 1-0 win.
How It Happened
The Millsaps defense was challenged all night long in match that saw the Tigers outshoot the Majors by a 28-5 clip. Sophomore keeper
Alyssa McCarron played an outstanding game, as she made a career high 12 saves. Unfortunately, the only goal she allowed proved to be the difference in the game.
On the offensive end,
Sarah Rimmer,
Kimberly Manley and
Abby Tidwell all had shots on goal for Millsaps. The Majors best look at a goal came in the 21st minute. After a
Hannah Johnson shot was blocked Millsaps was awarded a corner kick. The attempt from
Grayston Barron found the head of Manley, but unfortunately the shot was saved by the ETBU keeper.
