The Millsaps College men's soccer team will be in Atlanta this weekend for the SAA men's soccer final four. After shutting out #2 Rhodes in the quarterfinals, the Majors are just one win away from a conference championship game appearance. The only thing standing between them and a date in the title game is a match with Centre College on Friday.
Quarterfinals
In the quarterfinals, the #7 seed Majors squared off against the #2 seed Lynx of Rhodes College.
In the 25
th minute, as the Lynx attempted to push the ball upfield,
Gabriel Ryce came up with the steal, got the ball off to
Brett Judd who played a perfect pass to
Luca Kistner streaking up the middle of the field. After beating his defender, Kistner took advantage of the goalkeeper's miscue and was able to find the back of the net, giving the Majors a 1-0 advantage.
That would be all the scoring Millsaps would need as the Majors defense, anchored by goalkeeper
Alfie Miller, kept Rhodes off the scoreboard. Miller finished the match with 10 saves.
Centre College (13-4-1, 4-2-1 SAA)
The Colonels knocked off the Majors, 5-0 in Danville when the two teams met during the regular season. Centre comes into the match on a 6-match win streak.
Impact Players for Centre
