JACKSON, Miss. -- Due to the weather forecast the Millsaps College baseball team has adjusted their weekend schedule.
They have canceled their game with Webster University, and have pushed back their game with the University of Dallas.
On Friday and Saturday, the Majors will now play a two-game series with Dallas. First pitch is set for 11:00am on both days.
Millsaps enters this weekend with a record of 6-3. After dropping their first two games of the year to Huntingdon College, the Majors went on a six-game winning streak that included a 7-5 win over #10 LaGrange College. Unfortunately, the streak came to an end against #16 Texas-Tyler earlier this week. Millsaps is 6-1 at home so far this season.
The offense boasts a team batting average of .303, and has been led by
Jimmy Johnstone who is hitting .520 and
Brennan Ducote who has a batting average of .500.
Barrett Kaul has logged a team-high 15 innings on the mound, and already has one SAA Pitcher of the Week award to his credit this season. He anchors a pitching staff that has put together a 3.87 ERA so far this year.
Langston Haden has been outstanding out of the bullpen as he has yet to allow an earned run in 8.1 innings, and has only given up two hits over that span.
The University of Dallas enters the series with a record of 3-5. They have lost their last two games in a row.
After this weekend's games, Millsaps plays a home game against Belhaven on Tuesday followed by the first SAA series at home against Rhodes.
