MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Millsaps College men's basketball team scored a season-high 104 points, but Rhodes College was able to come away with 111-104 win on Friday night. The loss drops the Majors to 7-16 overall and 4-8 in conference play. The Lynx improve to 11-12 overall and 5-7 inside the Southern Athletic Association (SAA).
Sophomore
She'Chem Grant poured in a team-high 20 points to lead a balanced Millsaps offense that got double-digit contributions seven different players. Grant played 28 minutes off the bench and also led the team with 4 assists.
Millsaps held a slim 55-54 halftime lead after a very entertaining first twenty minutes of play. The Majors shot nearly 53% from the field, including 6-10 on shots from beyond the three-point arc. But the Lynx held their own as they were able to total 54 points on 46.5% shooting.
As the second half began Rhodes captured a 60-58 lead less than two minutes into the half. They stretched the lead to as many as 12 late in the half before Millsaps made a run. A pair of layups from sophomore

Joshua Miller had the Majors down by just eight. The lead got to as low as four points at 103-99 with 2:09 to play, but Rhodes was able to close out the win on the free throw line

Grant, Turner, Michael Sullivan, Cameron Carvelli, Buck Blanz, Saxton Becker and
Drew Burnett all finished with double-digit point totals for the Majors.
Next up Millsaps will play their final road SAA contest of the year Sunday afternoon as they travel to Hendrix. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00pm
