MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Rhodes had three players score in double figures to get past Millsaps, 65-53 Friday night in Memphis. Millsaps drops to 8-15 on the season and 5-7 in the SAA, while Rhodes improves to 14-8 overall and 7-5 in the conference.

Dia Fortenberry was the only Major in double figures with 14 points to go along with seven rebounds. Juniors

Rebecca Harris, sophomore
Caroline Guilbeau and freshman
Taelor Manning all came away with eight points.
After Harris' first quarter three with 7:46 on the clock put Millsaps up 5-3, both teams traded baskets until the score was tied at 11 with 3:58 remaining. Rhodes then used an 8-1 run that was capped off with three to put Millsaps behind 19-12 at the end of the quarter.
Millsaps got back into the game early in the second. Fortenberry scored six points and Guilbeau knocked down a three as part of a 9-3 run to bring the score to 22-21 with 7:06 left in the quarter. Manning knocked down two big threes to keep the deficit at 29-27 with 3:23 to go until the half. But Rhodes went on a 7-2 run over the final three minutes to take a 36-29 lead at the break.
Rhodes started the third on a 12-3 run to extend its lead to 48-33 with 3:35 left in the quarter. Thomas sparked the Majors to a 9-2 run that was finished off with back-to-back baskets by Manning and Guilbeau in the final minute to make it a 50-42 deficit at the end of three.
Millsaps pulled to within six after consecutive threes by Guilbeau and Harris, making the score 54-48 with 6:30 left in the game. That was as close as the Majors would get, Rhodes closed the game on an 11-3 run to hand Millsaps the loss.
Millsaps travels to Conway, Ark. Next to face Hendrix in its final road regular season game of the season, game time is scheduled for 1:00pm.
