JACKSON, Miss. – The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Baseball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
When the teams were announced on Thursday afternoon
Connor Woodall was selected as First Team All-District from NCAA Division III – District 5.
Woodall was outstanding for the Majors on the diamond this year. He started and played in all 44 games at shortstop for Millsaps. He finished fourth on the team in batting average at .299, scored 36 runs and drove in 30 RBIs. In the field he made just nine errors on his 172 chances.
Those numbers earned him an All-SAA Second Team selection in 2018.
Off the field Woodall graduated last week with a degree in Applied Mathematics. His 3.88 cumulative GPA was well over the necessary 3.30 threshold needed to earn an Academic All-District nomination.
He was also a Foundations Leader, member of both the Study Body Association and Kappa Alpha Order as well as served on the Greek conduct board during his time at Millsaps College.
