JACKSON, Miss. – The Millsaps College women's soccer team took to Harper Davis Field on Sunday afternoon for the second match of the 2018 season. The Majors, coming off of a 1-1 draw with Belhaven on Friday, welcomed the Panthers of LaGrange College to town.
The match saw Millsaps dominate the majority of the possession and outshoot the Panthers by a 14-8 mark. Unfortunately, neither team was able to find the back of the net for 110 minutes, and the match ended in a 0-0 draw.
Alyssa McCarron got the start in goal for the second consecutive match. She posted her first clean sheet of the year, as the defensive backline did a good job of limiting the LaGrange chances. McCarron made saves on all four of the Panthers' shots on goal.
The better part of the match was played on the Millsaps offensive side of the field, as the Majors put together several nice looks but could not capitalize.
Grayston Barron led Millsaps with three shots on goal. Teammates
Emily Gager,
Riley Fobare and
Hannah Johnson all added a pair of shots on goal as well.
