JACKSON, Miss. -- The Millsaps College women's soccer team opened up Southern Athletic Association (SAA) play on Saturday afternoon by hosting Rhodes College at Harper Davis Field.
The visiting Lynx scored one goal in each half to come away with the 2-0 win.
How It Happened
Rhodes got on the board in the 20th minute and still held on to their 1-0 advantage at halftime.
Millsaps had a chance in the 69th minute but the shot on goal from
Riley Fobare was saved by the Lynx keeper. Rhodes added to their lead late in the 82nd minute when they scored off of a corner kick.
The best Major look at goal came in the 87th minute when
Hannah Johnson beat several defenders and sent a shot towards the goal, unfortunately it was saved and Rhodes held on for the 2-0 win.

Maddie Moore made 8 saves to bring her season total to 9.
What's Next?
Millsaps will be back in action next weekend when they host Hendrix College as part of Family Weekend. Saturday's kickoff from Harper Davis Field is scheduled for 11:00am.
