MEMPHIS, Tenn.—For the first time in 2019, the Millsaps women's basketball team has found themselves in the loss column.
With five players in double figures, Rhodes knocked off the Majors 93-49, to give Millsaps their first conference loss on the season and move them to 13-3 overall, 4-1 in the SAA.
How It Happened
The Lynx came out first from the get-go, which proved to be the story of the game. The Millsaps defense, which held Hendrix to just 22% shooting in Friday night's win, couldn't do the same to Rhodes, who shot a lights-out 55% from the field, including 42% from three.
Rhodes' bench was also able to flip the script on Millsaps, outscoring the Majors bench 47-9, a stat which usually favors Millsaps. Rhodes also used their size to outscore Millsaps 44-16 in the paint.
One of the bright spots for the Majors offense was sophomore
Morgan McCrea, who led all scorers with 20 points. She was 7-11 from the field, including 4-6 from behind the arc.
What's Next
The Majors will head back to the Hangar Dome for Friday/Sunday contests against Centre and Sewanee, respectively. Friday's tipoff is scheduled for 6 pm and Sunday's is set for 1pm.
