Preview: Men' Soccer Faces Final SAA Regular Season Road Test

JACKSON, Miss. -- For the final time in the 2019 regular season the Millsaps College men's soccer team hits the road this weekend

Tomorrow, the Majors will travel to Georiga to take on Berry College. Millsaps will remain in Georgia for a Sunday afternoon match against Oglethorpe University. 

Last Time Out
Millsaps traveled to Arkansas on Sunday afternoon for their second Southern Athletic Association match of the season. 

The Majors faced off against the Warriors of Hendrix College.

Millsaps was able to score early, and then pull away from the Warriors late in a 3-0 win.

With that victory Millsaps heads into this weekend 5-5 on the year. They are 1-1 in SAA play. 

Tomorrow: Berry College (6-5-1, 0-2 SAA), 4:00 p.m. CT, Mount Berry, Ga.
The Vikings come into the weekend off of a 2-1 loss to Centre College. Berry is 2-4 in their last six matches. They have yet to share a common opponent with the Majors this season. 

Key Players for the Vikings
The Berry offense begins and ends with senior Jake Williamson. The forward has scored 11 goals this season, three more than anyone else in the SAA. Freshman JP Phillips is the leading assist-man with four on the season. 

Defensively, sophomore Baker Hoyt is the main goalkeeper having started six of the team's matches. He has allowed nine goals in 600+ minutes of game action. 

Sunday: Oglethorpe University (7-3, 2-0 SAA), 2:30 p.m. CT, Atlanta, Ga.
The Stormy Petrels will take on Birmingham-Southern College Friday night before turning their attention to the Majors on Sunday. Oglethorpe has won three out of their last four matches. 

Key Players for the Stormy Petrels
The offensive attack for Oglethorpe runs through three players. Sophomore Abraham Lopez, senior Ryan Marcano and freshman James Williams have combined for 16 goals on the season. Lopez leads the team with eight goals while sophomore Tuli Mwarumba has a team-high three assists. 

Freshman Ulises Rodriguez and senior Scott Zoino have split the starts in goal this season. Zoino leads the team in saves, but Rodriguez has the better goals against average (1.21).
