JACKSON, Miss. -- On Sunday afternoon the Millsaps College men's soccer team returned to the pitch at Harper Davis Field for a Southern Athletic Association match against Centre College
The visiting Colonels led 2-0 at halftime, and added a goal midway through the second half to secure the 3-0 win.
With the loss Millsaps falls to 5-9 overall this season. They are 1-5 in conference play. Centre improves to 12-3-1 overall and 5-1 in the SAA.
How It Happened
The Majors had the opening chance on goal when
Darren Farris got a shot off of an
Austin Miller corner kick, unfortunately the Colonel keeper was there for the save.
Less than ten minutes later Centre opened up the scoring with the game's first goal. They added another in the 31st minute to move ahead 2-0.
In the second half the Colonels tacked on a third goal in the 67th minute. Down the stretch, each time Millsaps organized an offensive attack they were unfortunately turned away, and Centre held on for the win.
