SEWANEE, Tenn. -- The Millsaps College volleyball team kicked off this weekend's Southern Athletic Association road trip with a Saturday afternoon match at Sewanee.
The Majors battled all afternoon long, but some costly offensive errors proved to be the difference in the Sewanee 3-0 win.
The loss drops Millsaps to 11-8 overall and 2-4 in conference play. The Tigers improve to 11-5 overall. They are now 4-2 in the SAA.
How It Happened
Sewanee jumped out to a 1-0 lead with their 25-14 set one win.
Millsaps battled back in the second set, leading 20-18 at one point. Unfortunately the Tigers outscored the Majors 7-1 over the final stretch to win set two by a score of 25-21.
Sewanee closed out their 3-0 win with a 25-18 third set victory.

Senior
Erica Bennett led the Majors with six total kills on the afternoon.
McKenzi Petricko and
Morgan Vincent added five kills each.
With a team-high 13 digs, senior
Payton Passantino surpassed the 1,000 career dig mark at Millsaps College.

The Majors are right back in action tomorrow afternoon as they travel to take on Centre College. The match is set to begin at 11:00 a.m. CT.
