DANVILLE, Ky. -- On Sunday, the Millsaps College volleyball team battled Centre College in a conference contest.
After losing two consecutive sets, the visiting Majors dominated the end of the game by swinging with precision, winning the fifth and final set 15-7.
Millsaps moves to 12-8 after winning on the road, forcing the Colonels to fall to 5-10 on the season.
How It Happened
Sunday morning's competition began with both teams struggling to take a lead until
Morgan Vincent, swinging and serving, pushed the Majors ahead 21-15. Centre went on to win four of the next five points, but Millsaps still found a way to close out the opening set 25-20.
Unfortunately, the Colonels jumped out to a 16-8 lead in the second set and never looked back, cruising to tie things up at 1-1. Vincent, alongside senior teammate McKenzie Petricko, put the Majors in striking distance to take the third set, but Centre's 12-6 lead resulted in the home team going ahead two games to one.
Millsaps outscored the Colonels 25-12 in the fourth set after boasting a hitting percentage of .500 to pair with zero hitting errors.
The final set mirrored that of the fourth as the Majors won the deciding game 15-7.
