Men's Basketball Runs Away from Ozarks in the Second Half

JACKSON, Miss. -- On Saturday, the Millsaps College men's basketball team returned to the Hangar Dome for a non-conference matchup with the University of the Ozarks Eagles.

The Majors used a late first half run to carry a nine point lead to halftime, and doubled their lead in the second half to pick up the 88-70 win.

The win improves Millsaps to 3-2 overall. The Eagles fall to 1-2.

How It Happened
The game was back and forth for the better portion of the first half, but a late run by the Majors gave them a 45-36 lead at halftime.

Millsaps outscored the Ozarks 13-6 over the final five minutes. The run was highlighted by six points from Saxton Becker, who finished the night as the leading scorer for Millsaps with 18 points off the bench.

The Majors quickly captured their first double-digit lead of the night when Kaleb Jenkins opened up the second half with a three-pointer, one of two baskets from beyond the arc for him.

The Eagles battled back, and got to within five points midway through the half, but the Majors responded by outscoring Ozarks 25-12 over the final ten minutes to capture the win.

The largest lead of the night for the Majors came when Anthony Hughes converted a three-point play with 2:15 left to play to put Millsaps ahead 88-64.

The Majors were able to empty the bench in the final two minutes to close out the 88-70 win.

Notables
