GREENWOOD, In. -- On Thursday, the 2019 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Team, selected by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America), was announced.
This team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
For Millsaps College, in NCAA Division III - District 5, junior midfielder
Luca Kistner was a first team honoree.
Off the field, the business and economics major holds a cumulative 4.0 GPA.
On the field, the Munich. Germany native is playing a crucial role for the Majors this season. Kistner has started in 14 of the 16 matches, and totaled well over 1,000 minutes played.
He has scored three goals, including the game-winner in the season-opener against LaGrange College. Kistner also had scores in SAA wins against Hendrix and Birmingham-Southern. He has a pair of assistants this season to bring his points total to eight.
Kistner, and the rest of the Majors, will travel to Atlanta, Georiga tomorrow for a SAA Semifinal match against the No. 2 seed Centre College. Kickoff from the campus of Oglethorpe University is set for 3:30 p.m. CT.
