WACO, Texas -- The postseason accolades continue to roll in for Millsaps College junior defensive lineman
Liam Vincifora.
On Wednesday, the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) announced their 2019 AFCA Division III Coaches' All-American Teams. Vincifora was honored as a Second Team All-American selection.
He becomes the first Millsaps College player to earn All-American status from the AFCA since Will Hawkins in 2010, and the first Major to be named an All-American from any organization since Zach Bell was named a Second Team All-American by the Beyond Sports Network in 2013.
The Covington, Louisiana native was named the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Defensive Player of the Year and, for the second consecutive season, earned an All-SAA
First Team nod.
He totaled 59 tackles, 32 of them solo, 21 tackles-for-loss, 14 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 2 fumble recoveries, 4 QB hurries and 4 pass breakups.
Vincifora led the SAA, and ended the regular-season ranked third in all of NCAA Division III in sacks. He also led the league in tackles-for-loss, and recorded at least a share of sack in 8 of the 10 games Millsaps
played this season.
He was named the SAA Defensive Player of the Week after his week five performance against Centre College, and twice earned a spot on the D3Football.com Team of the Week.
