ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Millsaps College baseball team wrapped up their weekend in Georgia with a Sunday morning contest against Whitworth Unviersity.
The Pirates served as the home team on the scoreboard in a game that was played on the campus of Oglethorpe University. Whitworth jumped out to a big lead early on, and their pitching never let up en route to securing a 10-0 win over the Majors.
How It Happened
The Pirate offense plated a run in the bottom of the 1st, and then errupted for 6 runs on 6 hits and 2 errors in the 2nd to grab an early 7-0 lead. They added a pair of runs in the 3rd, and rounded out the scoring with 1 run in the 6 to push their lead out to 10-0.
Their pitching staff used three different players to go the full 9 innings and allow just 1 Millsaps hit, a
Chris Hart single in the top of the 1st.
