JACKSON, Miss.--The Millsaps baseball team will host a Champions Spring Break baseball camp from March 11-14. Camp hours are 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Wednesday and 8:30 am to noon on Thursday. The camps are open to kids ages 5-14.
The camp will be run by Millsaps head baseball coach
Jim Page and assistant coaches
Scott DeLoach and
Doug Fortenberry, as well as members of the 2019 Millsaps baseball team.
The camp will focus on teaching kids the fundamentals of the game of baseball as well as showing drills players can continue to use after the camp has ended. Each camp member will receive instruction on hitting, catching, playing infield/outfield and proper baserunning technique. The camp directors will also work with the campers on developing positive thinking, goal setting and other areas that can help a young person succeed on and off the field.
Along with instruction, each camper will receive, "a picture, frame by frame video analysis, critiquing stance, stride, approach, contact, extension and follow through."
The cost of the camp is $195, which includes a deposit, camp t-shirt and a video. Lunch is not included in the camp but may be purchased for $16 for the four days. Campers may also bring their own lunch.
