JACKSON, Miss.--The Millsaps College athletic department will take part in celebrating NCAA Division III Week during the week of April 1st through April 7th.
During the week, the department will have many activities planned for students to partake in, showcasing the experience of attending a division three institution. Student-athletes are encouraged to attend while all students are welcome at most events.
Monday through Thursday, students can come to the Leggett Living Room for #WhyD3. This is an opportunity for all individuals associated with Millsaps to come and tell why they chose division 3.
On Tuesday, Apr. 2, at 11:45 AM, assistant volleyball coach and student life area coordinator
Leah Hunter will be hosting a mental health seminar in the Leggett Living Room. Individuals are encouraged to come by and get tips on juggling the everyday stress of being a Division III student-athlete.
There will be a student-athlete barbecue on Wednesday, Apr. 3 from 12-2 PM at the football field. Student-athletes are welcome to grab hamburgers/hotdogs, play cornhole and listen to music. Also during that time, all students are welcome to partake in the t-shirt exchange, also at the football field. Students can bring a non-Millsaps t-shirt and exchange it for a Millsaps t-shirt of their choosing. All exchanged t-shirts will be donated to charity.
Saturday is the M.O.V.E. event around Belhaven, organized by Lori Galambos. Students interested in being part of the Millsaps Organized Volunteer Event can sign up through the email received from Galambos.
Finally, Tuesday through Sunday, different Millsaps teams will be taking over the Majors Instagram feed to highlight the life of a student-athlete. Football, tennis and soccer will takeover Instagram on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, respectively. Friday, the men's and women's track teams will takeover as they prepare for their meet at the Mississippi College Twilight Invitational. Baseball and Softball will be on the Majors feed Saturday and Sunday as they travel to Berry College to take on the Vikings.
