JACKSON, Miss. -- For the second consecutive weekend the Millsaps College baseball team will hit the road for their Southern Athletic Association (SAA) series. This weekend the Majors travel to Tennessee for a three-game set with the Tigers of Sewanee. This will round out the road portion of the 2019 SAA schedule for Millsaps.

Check out the game notes below for all of the details on this weekend's series.

Last Week
Millsaps was swept by first-place Berry College last weekend, but the Majors responded in a big way on Tuesday.

They traveled to Montgomery, Alabama for a midweek doubleheader with Huntingdon College. The Hawks came into the week ranked as the No. 21 team nationally in the most recent D3Baseball.com NCAA Division III poll.

The Millsaps offense came alive as they combined for 22 hits on the afternoon en route to a pair of wins.

The Majors won game one 4-1, and used an eight-run top of the 6th in the nightcap to complete the sweep with an 11-9 game two win.

With the doubleheader sweep Millsaps enters this weekend at 8-25 overall on the year. They are 2-12 in SAA play.

Saturday, April 13 12:00 p.m. (DH) & Sunday, April 14 12:00 p.m. at Sewanee (18-14, 5-10 SAA)
The Tigers enter the weekend at 18-14 overall on the year, but Sewanee is just 5-10 in SAA play. They come in having lost four out of their last five games, including two of three to Hendrix College last weekend.

Seniors Trey Akins and Riley Brandvold lead the Sewanee offense. Akins leads the team with a .336 batting average, meanwhile Brandvold is a force in the middle of the lineup with eleven doubles, three triples, three home runs and 20 RBIs.

As a team the Tigers lead the SAA in doubles with 73, they also lead the leage with 93 total extra-base hits.

On the mound Sewanee is paced by sophomore right-hander Trey Holland. He has pitched a team-high 46 innings and has posted a 3.52 ERA. Holland has 46 total strikouts and has only walked 18 batters. The Tigers staff as a whole has a team ERA of 5.21
