OXFORD, Miss.—The Millsaps Track and Field teams spent their second straight weekend in the state of Mississippi, this weekend heading to Oxford for the Joe Walker Invite on the campus of Ole Miss.
Women
Abby Tew continued her strong spring by picking up a sixth place finish in the 5000 meters. Teammates
Lily Pudlik and
Miranda Gaupp finished with times of 19:28.14 and 21:11.45, respectively.
Shelby Wilson grabbed a second place in the high jump with a height of 1.55 meters.
In the throwing events,
Rose Ward had a hammer throw distance of 36.19 meters while
Payton Passantino snagged a fifth in the javelin with a toss of 36.83 meters. Teammate
Sophia Brouillette was 11
th in the javelin, hitting a distance of 29.23 meters.
Men
Landon Wimberley competed in the 200 meters, finishing with a time of 22.88 while teammates
Grant Yancey and
Zach Deihl ran the 5000 meters in 16:21.21 and 16:26.22, respectively.
Asael Hernandez-Loredo was 11
th in the discus with a top distance of 38.56 meters and was ninth in the hammer throw, throwing for 50.03 meters.
What's Next
Both teams will be in action next Friday at home as they'll host a dual meet with Birmingham-Southern. Events are slated to start at noon.
