JACKSON, Miss. -- The 2019 regular season is coming to a close for the Millsaps College baseball team. This weekend the Majors will wrap up their regularly scheduled games at home with a three-game Southern Athletic Association (SAA) series against the Stormy Petrels of Oglethorpe University

Check out the game notes below for all of the details on this weekend's series.

Last Week
Millsaps was swept by Sewanee last weekend, and despite falling to Belhaven last night, several players turned in strong individual performances for Millsaps.

In Sunday's 15-12 loss to the Tigers Brennan Ducote led the offense with four hits. It was his twelveth multi-hit game of the season. He currently leads the Majors with a .320 batting average. He is also tied for fourth in the SAA with a team-high 17 stolen bases.

Jimmy Johnstone had a pair of hits in last night's loss at Belhaven. He has now hit safely in six consecutive games. He has 12 hits in his last 27 at bats. That effort has pushed his batting average up to .304.

Friday, April 19 2:30 p.m. & Saturday, April 20 1:00 p.m. (DH) vs Oglethorpe University (10-27, 6-12 SAA)
The Stormy Petrels enter the weekend at 10-27 overall on the year, and Oglethopre sits just above the Majors in the SAA standings with a  6-12 mark in conference play. They come in having lost eleven out of their last twelve games, including two of three to Hendrix College last weekend.

Senior Andrew Mink is a big power threat in the middle of the Oglethorpe offense. He leads the conference with six home runs, and is first on the team with 27 RBIs. Meanwhile junior Austin Jackson leads the team with a .359 batting average. He is just one of two players that have a significant number of plate appearances and are hitting above .300.

As a team the Stormy Petrels lead the SAA in home runs (23), but they are just seventh in batting average (.270).

On the mound Oglethorpe is paced by freshman right-hander Jonathan Haab. He has pitched a team-high 48.1 innings and is third in the conference with 56 strikeouts. Haab has posted an ERA of 6.33. The Stormy Petrel's staff as a whole has a team ERA of 7.74 which is last in the SAA.
