JACKSON, Miss. -- The 2019 regular season is over for the Millsaps College baseball team. This weekend the Majors eagerly shift their focus to the postseason and the Southern Athletic Association Baseball Championships.

Millsaps finished the regular season with a 9-31 overall mark, and a 3-14 SAA record. They are the No. 8 seed and will play opening weekend at No. 1 seed Hendrix College. The No. 4 seed Rhodes College and No. 5 seed Centre College will also travel to Conway, Arkansas.

Check out the game notes below for all of the details on this weekend's tournament.

Friday, April 26  2:00 p.m. vs Hendrix College (28-12, 15-6 SAA)
The Warriors earned the No. 1 seed by claiming their first regular season SAA baseball championship this year. They enter the tournament having won two out of their last three games in a series against Rhodes last weekend.

Hendrix won two out of three games in every conference series this year, and took all three from the Majors back on March 30-31.

Freshman Juan Pablo Leon leads the Warrior offense with a .385 batting average this season. That number is fourth best in the entire conference. Jorge Leon is the major run producing threat in the middle of the lineup with a team-high 30 RBIs. Meanwhile Ford Sherington leads the team with 12 doubles and a .507 slugging percentage.

On the mound the Warriors are paced by another freshman in Andrei Stoyanow. His 1.86 ERA on the year leads the SAA. He has struck out 37 batters in 48.1 innings. As a staff Hendrix is second in the conference with a team ERA of 3.69.
