CONWAY, Ark.—The Millsaps men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up their conference slate this weekend with the 2019 SAA Championships held at Hendrix College.
The men's team finished seventh with 60.5 points while the women's team was sixth with 63.83 points. Both teams had multiple all-conference finishers.
Men
Landon Wimberley finished eighth in the 100-meter dash after qualifying second from his heat. He also picked up a sixth place finish in the 200-meter dash after qualifying seventh overall.
Zach Deihl picked up a point for the men with an eighth place finish in the 1500 meters.
In the field events,
Storm Buescher picked up a win and a first-team All-SAA in the high jump with a height of 1.93 meters. Teammate
James Turner grabbed third and an honorable mention with a height of 1.83 meters.
Zachary Tullos was seventh in the triple jump with a distance of 12.69 meters.
Asael Hernandez-Loredo was the winner in discus, picking up first-team All-SAA with a throw of 43.56 meters. He was also second in the hammer, garnering second-team All-SAA, with a distance of 50.21 meters and was sixth overall in the shotput with a distance of 13.30 meters.
Women
Aliyah Gillespie picked up a sixth in the 100-meter dash and a fourth in the 200-meters.
On the distance side,
Abby Tew was eighth in the 5000-meters while earning All-SAA honorable mention with a third place in the 10000-meters.
Carolina Teague ran a great race in the 400-hurdles, picking up third and All-SAA honorable mention in the process.
In the field events,
Shelby Wilson was second and All-SAA second team in the high jump with a height of 1.52 meters. Teammate
Essence Davis grabbed points with a sixth place finish in the high jump. Davis also finished eighth in the triple jump.
In the throwing events,
Payton Passantino was a first-team All-SAA selection in javelin after she picked up a win in the event. She was also fourth in the shotput and eighth in the discus.
Rose Ward picked up a big fifth place finish in the hammer throw while
Sophia Brouillette also was fifth in the javelin.

The track and field teams will wrap up their regular season on Friday May 10 as they travel to William Carey College for the Carey Last Chance meet.
