JACKSON, Miss. -- On Friday evening, the Millsaps women's soccer team kicked off the 2019 season right down the road at Belhaven University. The Blazers took a 1-0 lead in the first-half and followed with a goal in the second to score the 2-0 win.
How It Happened
Offensively, Millsaps came out with six shots, four of them on goal in the first-half. In the second-half, Belhaven held the Majors offense to only one shot.
Kimberly Manley and
Riley Ely lead the team with two shots, each on goal.
On the defensive end for the Majors,
Maddie Moore got the start in goal, and had a game-high six saves.
Additionally, the season opener saw 14 players see game action for the Majors.
What's Next?
Millsaps will play it's home opener against LaGrange College on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m. with live coverage provided on the Millsaps Sports Network.
