Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Volleyball Wraps up Colorado College Classic

COLORADO SPRINGS, Co. -- On Saturday, the Majors volleyball team continued play in the Colorado College Classic. To finish up the weekend in Colorado Springs, Millsaps competed in matches against Clarkson University and Edgewood College.

A well-fought finish in the first contest against Clarkson was not enough to come back from the slow start. Millsaps performed very well in the second match of the day, coming out strong in the first set to take the lead and evening the score later on to force the deciding fifth set. Despite out-swinging the Eagles, the Majors tough presence fell just short in the final set to give Edgewood the 3-2 victory.

Game 1
Millsaps out-paced Clarkson in digs, and leading the way for the Majors was Payton Passantino with 19.

Meanwhile, seniors Morgan Vincent and McKenzi Petricko, tallied 17 kills with 13 assists from Katelyn Thomas to help fight back after a slow start in the first set.

Ten aces, as a team, helped the Knights win the match 3-0.

Notable, Katelyn Thomas boasted 26 assists along with a record high, 10 digs. An impressive double-double performance by the sophomore pushed the Majors to five sets.

Unfortunately, Edgewood worked the net with 10 blocks to wrap up the five set affair to win 3-2.
