MARSHALL, Texas -- On Sunday, the Millsaps Women's soccer team wrapped up their weekend out west with a hard-fought match with East Texas Baptist University.
The Majors stood tall on defense, keeping the afternoon contest scoreless at halftime, but the Tigers scored two late goals to win at home 2-0.
How It Happened
The offense for the Majors struggled to get going in the first period, putting up three shots with one on goal.
Sophomore goalkeeper,
Maddie Moore, returned for her first start since the season opener at Belhaven, saving six goals in the first 45 minutes to keep the Tigers scoreless.
Following a scoreless first-half, ETBU continued to control the shot column of the game by a 18-0 margin. Unfortunately, Moore's career-high of 15 saves only slowed down the home team as the Tigers broke through for a pair of late goals in the 84th and 89th minute to win 2-0.
What's Next?
Millsaps will travel to Alabama on Friday night for a non-conference matchup with Judson College. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m.
