MOUNT BERRY, Ga. -- On Saturday, the Millsaps College volleyball team opened up SAA play in Georgia. The Majors appeared in matches with fifth ranked Berry College and Covenant College.
The Vikings played exceptional at home to win 3-0, ending the Majors eight game win streak. Millsaps bounced back immediately in game two to take down Covenant in three sets.
Game 1
Millsaps jumped out to an early start, finding themselves up 8-4 in the first set. Unfortunately, the lead slipped away from the Majors, losing the opening set 22-25.
A strong effort from
McKenzi Petricko kept Millsaps within range, but the Vikings .292 hitting percentage put an end to the match in three sets.
Additionally,
Katelyn Thomas produced 14 assists and nine digs against the tough competition.

Game 2
The Majors wasted no time improving their hitting percentage from the previous match as
Erica Bennett led the team with 17 kills.
Mary Tebbe, alongside Thomas, assisted on 37 of the 45 kills against the Scots.
Millsaps found themselves down 13-16 in the final set before the seniors, Bennett and Petricko, fought back for the lead. Defensivley,
Payton Passantino recorded 14 digs, leading the Majors to the 3-0 victory over Covenant.

Millsaps will stay in Georgia on Sunday for an SAA matchup against Oglethorpe. Game time is set for 11:00 a.m. CT.
