LONGVIEW, Texas -- The Millsaps College men's soccer team wrapped up a non-conference road trip with a Saturday night matchup at LeToureanu University.
The host Yellowjackets scored three goals in both halves, and held the Majors to just three goals total to win 6-3.
The loss drops Millsaps to 4-3 on the year. LeTourneau improves to 2-3-2 overall.
How It Happened
The Yellowjackets scored the game's opening three goals in the 3rd, 14th, and 38th minutes respectively.
The Majors broke through for their first score in the 39th minute when
Connor Henderson made good on a ball from
Ruben Hamman.
The score remained 3-1 as the teams went back to hafltime.
LeTourneau got the goal back early in the second half. But Millsaps responded with a pair of goals from
Brett Judd and
Gabriel Ryce less than two minutes apart to make it 4-3.
Unfortunately the Yellowjackets offense struck twice more over the final 30 minutes to come away with a 6-3 win.
Notable
Judd, who now has a team-high seven goals on the year, is tied for second in the Southern Athletic Association.
What's Next?
The Majors return home for their final non-conference match. Millsaps will host NCAA Division II opponent Delta State on Tuesday night. Kickoff from Harper Davis Field is set for 7:00 p.m.
