JACKSON, Miss. -- Fresh off a 14-0 win over Rhodes College in their SAA opener, the Millsaps College football team hits the road this weekend for a matchup with the Vikings of Berry College.

The Vikings are ranked No. 10 in the most recent D3football.com Top-25 Poll.

Last Time Out
On Saturday night, the Majors  football team opened up the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) portion of their schedule by hosting the Lynx of Rhodes College.

Millsaps capitalized on a Rhodes miscue early on to lead 14-0 at halftime. The entire second half was dominated by the defenses and special teams units.

In the end Millsaps held on for the win.

Senior Reid Evans and junior Andrew Byrd both earned SAA Player of the Week awards for their performances in the win.

With the victory, the Majors enter this weekend with a 3-0 overall record. They sit at 1-0 in the SAA.

Saturday: Berry College (3-0, 1-0 SAA), 1:00 p.m. CT, Mount Berry, Georgia
The Vikings enter Saturday's matchup off of a 14-10 win on the road at Trinity. Berry trailed 10-7 at halftime, but a touchdown early in the fourth quarter helped propel the Vikings to the win.

Key Players for the Vikings
Senior Heath Burchfield has taken the majority of the snaps at quarterback for the Vikings. He has totaled six touchdowns, and has yet to throw an interception.

Junior Isaiah Dawson leads the Viking ground attack with 181 yards on 34 attempts, but Burchfield has the team's lone rushing touchdown of the season.

Senior Mason Kinsey and sophomore Cade Kennemore have both hauled in double-digit receptions for Berry. Kinsey currently leads the SAA with five receiving touchdowns.

On the defensive side of the ball, a pair of seniors, Brandon Palmer and Cullen Carlin are the leaders. Plamer paces the Vikings with 18 total tackles from his linebacker position while, on the defensive line, Carlin is tied for the league lead with four sacks.
