JACKSON, Miss.—On Saturday, the Millsaps College volleyball team took on Hendrix College in a match that needed only three sets.
The Majors fell behind early 6-1 until
Bre Reed earned three of the next four points on kills.
McKenzi Petricko picked up right where Reed left off, leading Millsaps to their first lead of the day at 20-19. Unfortunatley, the Warriors defense stood tall, outlasting the home team to take the first set 25-23
Sets 2 and 3 were rough for the Majors, as they were never able to find a rhythm offensively. In the second, Hendrix jumped out to a 12-3 lead and coasted 25-8, to move ahead 2-0. The third set was better at the beginning, as the Majors jumped up by 4, at 13-9, before the Warriors went ahead on a 10-1 run, catapulting Hendrix to a 25-20 win.
Defensivley, the Majors were led by
Morgan Vincent's 12 digs and 2 blocks.
Mary Tebbe chipped in 13 assists while Petricko added nine kills.
