JACKSON, Miss. -- On Saturday, the Millsaps College volleyball team slammed the door shut on the Millsaps/Belhaven Invitational. The last day of competition for the Majors featured matches against East Texas Baptist University and Huntingdon College.
Millsaps would secure game one against East Texas Baptist University in four sets. The Majors would have just enough to edge out the win in three sets against Huntingdon's relentless efforts.
Game 1
After falling behind in the first set, the Majors offense would kick it into gear behind
Mary Tebbe, recording four quick points off of aces.
Alyssa Jolly, accompanied by
Morgan Vincent, tallied 23 kills to add to the balanced attack as
Erica Bennett would lead the way with 16 kills.
Defensively,
Payton Passantino provided 19 digs as Vincent and
Katelyn Thomas, each, recorded 10.
Additionally, Thomas would assist in 20 successful attacks, while walking away with the 3-1 win.

Game 2
Mckenzi Petricko merged with Bennett for a total of 34 kills, picking up right where the other left off. The Majors offense would average a hitting percentage of .327, overpowering Huntingdon's back row.
Tebbe, alongside Thomas, put together majority of the team's assists with 41 of their combined 86 on the day.
Respectively, nine aces would prove to be the difference in the final contest, winning 3-0.

What's Next?
Millsaps will be back at the dome tomorrow for day two of the invitational. The Majors start the day at 10:00 a.m. against East Texas Baptist University. They will wrap up the weekend at home with a 2:00 p.m. match facing Huntingdon College.
