ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Millsaps College women's tennis team played a pair of matches on the second day of their spring break trip in Florida. 

The Majors opened up the day with a hard-fought, 5-4 win over Dickinson College.

In the nightcap, Millsaps fell 5-2 at the hands of NCAA Division I Providence College.

The Majors swept all three of the doubless matches, which proved to be the difference in the win. 

The combinations of Maggie Dabadie / Morris Kelly Clayton,  Natalie Toups / Amelia Christy and Morgan Jenkins / Sarah Hayek all picked up wins for Millsaps.

In singles' play, Hayek scored her second victory of the day when Dickinson forfeited at No. 6. 

Grace Gaskins cruised to a 6-1, 6-3 win at singles' No. 1. That victory clinched the match win for the Majors.

Match vs Providence College
Dabadie and Clayton, picked up a 6-4 win at doubles No. 2, but the Friars won the other two matches to earn the point. 

Gaskins continued her strong start to the 2020 season with a come-from-behind 2-6, 6-2, 10-6 win at singles' No. 1. Marissa Brown also scored a victory (6-1, 3-6, 10-8) at the No. 4 spot.

Unfortunately, Providence won the other singles' matches to pick up the 5-2. win.

What's Next?
The Majors have tomorrow off. They will be back in action on Wendesday when they plat No. 13 Kenyon College at 5:30 p.m. CT.
