ATLANTA, Ga. -- After turning in an outstanding week to help lead the Majors to a three consecutive wins, Millsaps College junior
Fritz Walker III has been named the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Baseball Player of the Week.
The offense came alive this week for Millsaps as the Majors picked up wins over East Texas Baptist, Millikin University and Southwestern University.
Walker was 5-9 at the plate for a .556 batting average. The Madisonville, Louisiana, native also reached base five more times via walks. He hit his first collegiate homerun on Tuesday night against ETBU, drove in a total of six RBIs and scored six runs.
He finished the week with a slugging percentage of 1.000, and posted a .714 on-base percentage.
Walker and the Majors will look to keep their win streak alive tonight when they host Adrian College. First pitch from Twenty Field is set for 5:00 p.m.
