MEMPHIS, Tenn. – It was a return to competition for the Millsaps men's and women's swimming and diving programs on Saturday. The Majors competed in dual meets against Rhodes College at the outdoor Albruty Pool in Memphis.
Millsaps swam in six 25-meter lanes. It will likely be the only time the Majors compete in meters this season and results reflect slightly slower times against other meets swam in yards.
Rhodes won the men's meet, 195-38 and claimed victory in the women's dual, 216-34.
Senior
Bryan Sullivan won the 100-meter backstroke by nearly 2.5 seconds in 1:00.94. He added a win in the 50-meter freestyle in 23.85.
Sophomore
Breydon Conner was third in 200-meter backstroke (2:31.90).
Placing in the top three on the women's side were sophomore
Ginny Ray Clevenger and freshman
Catherine Passarelli.
Clevenger placed third in 200-meter butterfly with a time of 2:55.15. Passarelli finished in bronze position in the 400-meter freestyle (5:21.84).
The Majors now look ahead to hosting Loyola New Orleans on Oct. 30 inside the University Wellness Center – Lakeland in Flowood, Miss.
