CONWAY, Ark. – The Millsaps men's soccer team dropped a heartbreaker at Hendrix College by a score of 3-2 on Sunday. Michael Tymkiw and Sebastiani Maraldo both netted the first goals of their young careers at Warrior Field.

The match was originally scheduled for Saturday evening, but inclement weather prompted a Sunday morning start. The Warriors outshot the Majors 16-12, while both goalkeepers for each team garnered four saves each.

Hendrix (2-5-1, 1-1 SAA) struck first in the 24th minute with a set piece cross into the box that was headed in.

Millsaps (1-6-1, 0-2 SAA) responded with a goal of their own four minutes later when sophomore Jacks Dowdy would crossed a ball to Tymkiw for the tying goal.

With the score knotted at 1-1, Maraldo would find space after a corner kick to laser the ball into the back of the net in the 43rd minute to give Millsaps a 2-1 advantage heading into halftime.

Hendrix would tie the game up with a one-touch cross into the box in the 71st minute. Then in the 75th minute, the Warriors would reclaim the lead with a left-foot blast to the bottom-right corner.

Tymkiw and Dowdy would both have opportunities to tie the game with shots on target, but they would both be saved and Hendrix would hold on for the 3-2 victory.

The Majors will host Centre College at Harper Davis Field for Homecoming Weekend this Friday, Oct. 8. Opening kick is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. with live stats and video available at gomajors.com.
