ATLANTA – Millsaps volleyball senior middle hitter Alyssa Jolly continues to show her outstanding versatility across the court this season, and her efforts were recognized as the Southern Athletic Association on Tuesday. Jolly was named the SAA Defensive Player of the Week following a pair of double-doubles over the weekend.

She tallied 22 kills, 21 digs and a block in a 3-2 victory over Sewanee on Saturday. Jolly then totaled 12 kills, 16 digs and six blocks in a narrow 3-2 defeat against Centre on Sunday.

She now has six double-doubles as well as a triple-double (17 kills, 15 digs, 11 blocks) in a 3-2 win at Rhodes on Sept. 26.

This is the second time the Business Administration major has garnered weekly SAA honors. In the spring as a junior, Jolly was named the SAA Offensive Player of the Week on April 7. Additionally, Jolly was named 2020 All-SAA Honorable Mention.

Her career totals continue to impress as she has accumulated 419 kills, 289 digs and 154 blocks.

The Majors will next host Berry College on Friday, Oct. 8. The contest is set for a 6 p.m. start with live video and live stats available at gomajors.com.
