ATLANTA – Millsaps football freshman kicker
Cameron Beall was a triple threat in the Majors' 42-32 victory over Sewanee on Saturday. Beall was named the SAA Special Teams Player of the Week thanks to his PAT, kickoffs and punting efforts, the conference announced on Monday.
The Denham Springs, La., native was a perfect 6-for-6 on PATs and added five punts for 166 yards, averaging 33.2 yards per kick with one landing inside the 20-yard line. Beall stepped in admirably for injured starting punter
Ethan Klapatch.
Beall also powered seven kickoffs for 258 yards at 36.9 yards per kick. In his first season, he has successfully converted 28-of-29 PATs.
Monday was the second time at Major was recognized leaguewide this fall. Junior quarterback
Kaleb Thompson earned SAA Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 3 after totaling 380 all-purpose yards and four scores, following Millsaps' 42-21 victory at Rhodes.
The last Millsaps football player to be named SAA Special Teams Player of the Week was
Hunter Sellen on Feb. 10, earlier this year.
Millsaps will next face Hendrix at Little Rock's War Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. CT. Live video and stats links will be available on gomajors.com. Fans can also purchase tickets for parking and admission
