JACKSON, Miss. – The No. 6-ranked Millsaps women's basketball team will play host as the No.1 seed in the 2021 Southern Athletic Association Tournament, Friday and Saturday inside the Hangar Dome.
According to SAA guidelines, no outside fans, parents, or spectators will be allowed or permitted at the 2021 SAA Women's Basketball Tournament. Fans are encouraged to watch all games live and for free at gomajors.com or at the links below.
Millsaps (11-1, 10-1 SAA) will face No. 4 seed Centre at 4 p.m. in the first semifinal on Friday. No. 2 seed and fifth-ranked Oglethorpe will battle No. 3 seed Rhodes at 6 p.m. in the second contest. The winners will play in the championship game, beginning at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
The Majors claimed their sixth regular season conference title in program history (1996, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2019, 2021) and earned the right to host with highest winning percentage in the SAA. Millsaps also won its first title as members of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) and five in the last nine seasons as part of the SAA. The Majors last hosted the SAA Tournament in 2019.

Millsaps also leads the SAA in several statistical team categories. These include margin of victory (+12.5 ppg), defensive points allowed (55.8 ppg) as well as field goals for (44.6 percent) and field goals against (30.2 percent). The Majors also led on the defensive side of rebounding (33.3 rpg) and were number one by a wide margin from the free throw line (70.4 percent).
Seniors
Taelor Manning and
Dia Fortenberry powered the Majors as team leaders and finished the regular season near the top of several statistical categories. The pair collected three SAA Player of the Week honors during the season, with Manning earning two and Fortenberry the other. Both have combined for 2,063 points over their decorated four-year careers.
Manning finished second in steals per contest (2.5), and third in scoring (17.3 ppg), free-throw percentage (81.9 percent) and assists (3.5 apg). Fortenberry ended the campaign fourth in scoring (14.8 ppg), sixth in steals (2.0 spg), seventh in rebounding (6.1 rpg) and 10th in free-throw percentage (67.9 percent).
